Among the many new emerging groups each year from the French independent scene, it is often difficult to find that rare gem that stands out from the lot, while still maintaining a unifying approach to the music. It seems that in this area, Wendy Code has an overwhelming talent for their alter ego and Anglo-Saxon America.

With a first album that looks like a classic adventure, based in the 70s and 80s, the group that was born in Marseille hits hard. There is indeed a Glam Rock sound hanging throughout Am I Snowing?, not to say 'Rock Opera', without ever falling into kitsch or bad taste. Wendy Code is really a group of the new millennium that has digested its influences and its compositions to confer too much modernity.

An unlikely cross between Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Goldfrapp, Wendy Code takes its full potential on a few unstoppable titles where the voice of Wendy instantly seduces us, like 'Poupée De Nuit'.

The centerpiece of this amazing disc is undoubtedly the bold 'At The Party 5: 00 AM', a title which is also a story that we live 'live', or how to record live in the studio. The song arises gently before giving way to that famous refrain that might be burning-up the dancefloors, not to mention the surprising break in the toilets of a night club, in fact.
